Sweet & Savory Pecan Butter

Equipment

  • rimmed baking sheet
  • Vitamix or Blendtec
  • measuring cups
  • Measuring Spoons
  • oven

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 c pecans; raw
  • 2 tsp real maple syrup
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp pure vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp Himalayan sea salt

Optional - mix in for a smoother pecan butter

  • 3 T unrefined coconut oil

Instructions

STEP 1

  • Preheat the oven to 350° F.
  • Evenly spread the pecans out on the rimmed baking sheet
  • Toast the pecans for about 8 minutes, but be watching closely as they can burn easily.
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes.

STEP 2

  • Add pecans to the food processor and process for 5-10 minutes.
  • Scrape the sids of the food processor to reincorporate. Blend again quickly.

STEP 3

  • Add in all of the other ingredients and process until you reach the desired consistency.
  • If it thickens you can optionally add in up to 3 Tbs of coconut oil. Process again until smooth.

SERVE & ENJOY

  • You may transfer to a bowl and serve immediately, otherwise the pecan butter may be stored in a small jar or container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or up to a week in the fridge. ENJOY!!
