Equipment

  • large mixing bowl
  • silicone whisk
  • mini cookie scoop or spoon

Ingredients

  • 1 c cabbage; green shredded
  • 1/4 c purified water
  • 1/2 c GF all purpose flour
  • 3 Tbs cornstarch; non gmo
  • 1/2 c green onions chopped
  • 1/4 c onion; white chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 3 cloves garlic minced or pressed
  • 1 tsp red chili sauce
  • 1/2 tsp tomato sauce
  • 1/2 tsp vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Himalayan sea salt

FOR FRYING

  • 1 c grapeseed oil

Instructions

  • Take a large mixing bowl and add all the ingredients, except the oil for frying.
  • Mix well using a spoon or whisk.
  • Heat the oil to Medium High and turn it down slightly if it starts smoking.
  • One way to test if the oil is ready for frying is to flick a drop of water into the oil. It will pop and crackle if it is hot enough.
  • Using a small cookie scoop or spoon, make a ball on a plate and then use your fingers to tap it and flatten it down some
  • Once you have a few of the fritters formed, add to the hot oil and fry them until a nice golden brown on both sides. Be mindful and try to give even amounts of time on all sides of the fritter.
  • Remove them from the oil and place on a plate with a paper towel to absorb some of the oil. Serves well with the Chinese Dipping Sauce. Enjoy!!
