Equipment
- large mixing bowl
- silicone whisk
- mini cookie scoop or spoon
Ingredients
- 1 c cabbage; green shredded
- 1/4 c purified water
- 1/2 c GF all purpose flour
- 3 Tbs cornstarch; non gmo
- 1/2 c green onions chopped
- 1/4 c onion; white chopped
- 1 tsp ginger paste
- 3 cloves garlic minced or pressed
- 1 tsp red chili sauce
- 1/2 tsp tomato sauce
- 1/2 tsp vinegar
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp Himalayan sea salt
FOR FRYING
- 1 c grapeseed oil
Instructions
- Take a large mixing bowl and add all the ingredients, except the oil for frying.
- Mix well using a spoon or whisk.
- Heat the oil to Medium High and turn it down slightly if it starts smoking.
- One way to test if the oil is ready for frying is to flick a drop of water into the oil. It will pop and crackle if it is hot enough.
- Using a small cookie scoop or spoon, make a ball on a plate and then use your fingers to tap it and flatten it down some
- Once you have a few of the fritters formed, add to the hot oil and fry them until a nice golden brown on both sides. Be mindful and try to give even amounts of time on all sides of the fritter.
- Remove them from the oil and place on a plate with a paper towel to absorb some of the oil. Serves well with the Chinese Dipping Sauce. Enjoy!!
